Research and Inspired artists

After contacting Kirk Barley's manager, I was informed to attend his live show the next week with a chance to talk to him face to face, I attended the HIFI event and after asking around I idscovered that unfortunately Kirk Barley (Bambooman) had called in sick, only 20 minutes prior to the event, this was a shame as not only was I hoping of introducing myself but I was also eager to listen his work live.

Despite this I stayed around a bit longer and enjoyed another artist who went by the name of 'Vanuq', his performance was very interesting as he worked with, pads, decks and other MIDI synthesized equipment.

His work was very experimental, much like Bambooman himself, with weird beat rythms, chops, vocals and bass lines, I was told by the manager that this was his very first live show, at least under the name of 'Vanuq'. I will listen to more of his work and draw inspiration from it if need be.
