Beginning on my first song, I referenced a Mr. Bill song, a remix of Circuit Bent's 'Tonic' track from his Corrective Surgery EP.

The first sequence of this song switches between a mix of sampled ambiance's which interchange every bar, implementing a different tone, I utilised an arsenal of different textures to change the sonic aesthetic every one or two bars, transitioning between dry, chopped, punchy sequences and long wet, water effects, continuously altering the panning, reverb and rhythm in a dynamic way that keeps it flowing throughout.

For all my tracks I will go through the process by beginning with the initial composition and sound design, then over time as I continue the write out my song and add more elements throughout, I will mix it throughout, giving me a clear idea of what the finished product will sound like, rather than mixing at the last stage, which I believe can create some further problems.

This way of working can be a little slower, due to me interchanging between, writing, experimenting with processing and then mixing, which usually results in me needing to go back to what I was previously working on.

But this creates an attention for detail and allows me to examine the process of my songs as they slowly become more refined.
